NGV Pavilion Competition

The intervention seeks its own ground to reveal the transformative nature of fire, line and ephemera as a way into understanding Country as a past, present and future condition. The first part of the structure implies an events space under the cantilevering shroud. The second part, with an oculus to the sky, locates fire (and smoke) at the centre. The third part hosts Batman’s words marked in the sand upon opening, and subjected to the inevitable change of the conditions until closing.
